Client Testimonials

Christal Ho
(Entermission VR Escape Rooms)
“I knew that my website wasn’t necessarily the best. I knew it wasn’t SEO optimised, and there were a lot of issues with it.
The website was a mish-mash, the previous website person was unwell, and I was making all the changes myself. When it came to technical things, it was challenging to find suitable people to outsource it to, and the quality was very variable. It was a frustrating experience.
SEO ORB came in at the right time, and they did a great job of getting the website going and getting it SEO Optimized and increasing our organic traffic and taking over the advertising and other aspects of the business.
We are a VR Escape Room, so it’s a little different than Physical Escape Rooms, and breaking into the market is a challenge, but we are pulling in 6.5x ROI from our Google Ads campaigns.
If you are an Escape Room business, I highly recommend working with SEO ORB before your city is taken.”

Vincent Rubino
(Fox In A Box Chicago)
“…we were barely breaking even. Some months were profitable, and some were not profitable. The biggest problem we were trying to solve was ‘increase sales’.
I was going to Google Search Ads myself, and it didn’t ROI very well. I did a couple of random Facebook Ads as well. It wasn’t practical. Our Search Engine Optimisation was also disorganised. Before working with SEO ORB, our marketing efforts were non-existent and ineffective.
After working with SEO ORB, we got into a very profitable footing. It’s allowed me to free up my time to worry about more strategic efforts.
Our SEO rankings are through the roof, we are dominating our space for most of the essential keywords, and our ADs ROI is close to 30X, which is a complete no-brainer.
With SEO ORB, there is a real focus on Escape Rooms, and they have helped the organisation to a tremendous extent. I felt like I had a wingman there. Helping take care of one major part of the business.”
What Is Escape Room SEO? (WHAT IS IT, AND HOW DO YOU DO IT?)
Escape Room SEO is just a way to get your website higher on search engines like Google.
Create content that gets found on Google
Optimize your important escape room pages and landing pages with proper ‘meta titles’ and ‘meta descriptions’ to rank higher and get more clicks.
Ensure your website pages are optimized for other technical aspects and load quickly.
You can DIY or outsource your SEO.
Check out some of the in-depth tips and tutorials below.
ESCAPE ROOM SEO: DO IT YOURSELF? VS HIRING AN AGENCY VS HIRING INTERNALLY
If you want to rank in Google, you need three things:
A rhythm for creating content,
A network of sites linking to yours,
and good website hygiene.
We have 20+ Escape Room SEO Clients, and I’ve helped Escape Rooms go from 200 searches a month to 7000+ searches a month. Any client we work with can increase their bookings by 50% in a year.
And at SEO ORB, we are constantly up-leveling our SEO game. We are in multiple SEO Mastermind communities and have access to some of the leading SEO advisors in the world who work in super competitive niches like legal and health.
I am always picking these people’s brains about what we can do better, not to mention that every Escape Room that we work with always brings on its own set of challenges, so we keep getting better. We are obsessed with becoming a better version of ourselves every single day.
If you are making less than $10k a month, you should be doing some of your marketing, as outsourcing your SEO to cheap companies will be an utter waste of time. I will break down what we do to rank our clients consistently on the first page, and I will even explain WHO you can hire if you want to do this internally and how to set them to win.
#1 – A ROUTINE CONTENT CREATION CADENCE FOR YOUR WEBSITE
DOING IT YOURSELF
Always be listening to your customer’s queries. Listen to common questions in the sales process, read some articles about “Keyword Research,” look at other similar competing businesses (even outside your city) and see what they publish in their blog.
A tool called Ahrefs is a good starting point. It has a 7-day trial for $7. Watch a video on youtube on doing keyword research with Ahrefs and even uncover your competitors’ keywords.
Use the 7-day trial to get enough data to create content for at least one year. So if you will be publishing 1 article a week, you just need 52 topics to start with.
WHAT WE DO
We create a year’s worth of content ideas and use our tools to find keywords with high volume and lower competition. We have a separate escape room seo writers churn out these landing pages and blogs. The content is mainly focused on themes like “escape rooms,” “things to do,” “productivity and leadership,” or “birthday parties”…
Every three months, we return to our content to see which ones are ranking to improve them further, insert various internal links, and call to action—maximizing any opportunity to push people to the booking pages.
IF YOU HIRE INTERNALLY
Hire a writer who has a decent understanding of the Escape Room industry. Buy them a course or two on doing Keyword Research, Competitive Analysis, and copywriting. Get them to do at least one course every month and keep creating landing pages and blog posts.
#2. A LINK BUILDING STRATEGY FOR YOUR WEBSITE
DOING IT YOURSELF
You can reach out to small websites to ask them if they will let you write for them. Additionally, you can use services like HARO – Help A Reporter Out, and you’ll land at least 1 out of every five outreaches.
Build more business listings on as many local directories as you can get. You can search for a list of business directory websites. And finally, you can reach out to local news outlets for Press Releases. You can also use PR Syndication platforms.
SEO is a long-term game, so you’ll need to be consistent with it. Keep repeating these things and do as much as you can. Build a solid plan so that you don’t burn yourself out. But it will eventually become fun as soon as you start ranking for some keywords.
WHAT WE DO
Whether building business listings, press releases, or guest posts, we do anything and everything. Or anything that we can do to hit our targets consistently. Working in the industry for a long has allowed us to build connections with lots of ‘escape room’ related websites.
IF YOU HIRE INTERNALLY
You will need to have a definite budget if you want to go down this route because you will need someone capable of sending 100s of emails, monitoring the emails, negotiating, and then getting content published on the websites.
As a general rule of thumb, if you reach out to 100 websites, 95% won’t be interested, and out of the five that do, four will ask for some sort of $ compensation to make it work their while. You can also include a “Will Pay $” in your subject lines, which might improve your response rates, but just be conscious of your budget.
#3 A GOOD WEBSITE TECHNICAL HYGIENE
DOING IT YOURSELF
Hopefully, you are using WordPress to build your website. If that is the case, just install Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO Plugin. Make sure to write out all your page content and full your Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions. Then de-index all your category pages and tag pages.
Watch a video or two on understanding Technical SEO, and try to implement the things you learn slowly and steadily on the website.
WHAT WE DO
We’ll take care of all the technical seo aspects. Honestly, we are looking for the tiniest things on the website to improve that can give you a ranking boost. We work on optimizing the code, so your website is lighter and loads faster, images are small in size, titles and meta descriptions are optimized, images have alt descriptions, and many more advanced things.
We also focus on building out a bulletproof Schema Code for your website that provides additional data to Google. Take a look at this example.
IF YOU HIRE INTERNALLY
This is probably going to be the most challenging position to hire. It’s better to get a part-time WordPress developer and an excellent technical SEO course. Let them learn and implement along with the course. Technical SEO is a never-ending process, so you might want to cap them at 10-15 hours a month and then increase the time as you start to see some results.
BOTTOM LINE – IF YOU ARE DOING LESS THAN $10K A MONTH… LEARN TO DO SEO…
THIS IS GOING TO BE SUPER HELPFUL IN GETTING YOU TO THE NEXT LEVEL
$10K/m – Try to do it yourself, and outsource only some parts outside your scope.
$10-40K/m – Have an agency do it for you. Don’t outsource to freelancers, as SEO isn’t a one-person job.
$40K+/m – Get a PR person and Social Media manager internally, and outsource your SEO to an Agency.
$100K+/m – What are you doing here? Get a technical SEO, copywriter, and backlink-focused PR person internally, and outsource the rest.
If you’re looking for an SEO agency that stands out from the rest, look no further than SEO ORB. We offer a unique value proposition and are dedicated to helping our Escape Room clients succeed.
- We exclusively work with Escape Rooms.
- We make beautiful Escape Room websites and know SEO
- We take relentless monthly action on people’s behalf for their SEO.
THE BEGINNERS GUIDE TO SEO FOR ESCAPE ROOMS
Time to start taking some massive action, folks!
If you’ve ever bought an SEO service – I am sure you know that many SEO Companies don’t know how to get good results for Escape Room companies. But even if you’ve had SEO done before, you should be able to go and check that it is done. Because most of these companies out there is jack shit.
Today, I will show you seven super-awesome, money-making SEO Tips, which, if implemented vigorously in the next seven days – you will see your traffic start to increase. And if done consistently, you will begin reaping the benefits in the next 3 to 6 months.
#1 BUILD BUSINESS CITATIONS & GET AS MANY 5-STAR REVIEWS AS YOU CAN
What are Business Citations?
Business Citations are local listings in business directories or anywhere on the web where your NAME – ADDRESS – PHONE (NAP) is mentioned. You can get them now by using Yest, Moz Local, or even gigs on Fiverr or People Per Hour.
Getting Google Reviews
If there’s one thing that will give you massive ROI on your time invested, it is Google Reviews. Google looks at the best businesses and decides how to rank them in the Map Pack by looking at their reviews.
Try to get as many reviews as you can from your customers. To automate some of the processes, you can use services like Podium or Grade.us or even ask your customers in a heartfelt manner as soon as they complete their games.
#2 WRITE TITLES AND META DESCRIPTIONS FOR ALL YOUR KEY BLOGS AND LANDING PAGES
The highlighted sections are the Titles and Meta Descriptions. With the help of some free plugins like Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO, you can easily change them.
The titles and meta descriptions are essential for ranking higher on the search engines. Here are a few things you should keep in mind when creating them:
The titles and meta descriptions should contain your primary keyword for the page
The titles and meta descriptions should be limited to the number of characters mentioned in the tools.
You should only target every keyword on one single page/post of the website
Just install Yoast or Rankmath SEO, or if you are using a different CMS other than WordPress, look up how to change your titles and meta descriptions on that CMS on Google.
#3 GET HIGH-QUALITY PHOTOS AND FOOTAGE OF YOUR GAMES
High-quality images and videos are vital to rank higher and attract and convert website visitors into paying customers of your business.
High-quality images and videos are powerful because they increase visitors’ amount of time on your website. Also, as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words – the same is true for Escape Rooms.
Google is super-smart, and they can understand if people have a good experience on a website or are just bouncing off it without interacting with any elements. If people spend more time, it’s a clear signal to Google that they like your page, resulting in higher rankings for your escape room.
You can take the photos yourself if you have an iPhone or a decent DSLR camera, but I suggest getting your videos done by a professional who understands what they are doing.
#4 GET AT LEAST 5 GUEST POSTS POINTING TO YOUR WEBSITE
You can reach out to other websites similar to Escape Rooms or even general categories like Travel and Lifestyle and ask them if they would be interested in a Guest Post. Guest posting is a pure volume game – the more email requests you send out, the higher your chances of getting an opportunity to post.
Usually, you would probably see an acceptance rate of 2-3 websites per 100 emails that you send. Once you’ve been accepted, pitch an excellent topic that would be relevant to the audience of that website, and if the webmaster agrees, write up a quality blog post for them, and don’t forget to link back to your website from that post.
When linking back to your website, use anchor texts like “your city + escape room,” or “Brand name + escape room + city,” or something broader like “fun thing to do in + city”… And that should set you off to a good start.
You can outsource this to professional Guest Posting Service providers like Outreach Mama, Authority Builders, or even Hoth SEO.
#5 WRITE 750+ WORDS FOR ALL YOUR LANDING PAGES AND BLOGS, USE FAQs WHEREVER POSSIBLE
Seven hundred fifty words is not a magic number; it’s a good starting point. Google needs to have enough content on a page to understand its context.
You should provide all the information about your games and other services on your homepage, and the homepage should link to all the most important landing pages of your website.
You can use keyword research tools like “Ahrefs” to provide a 7-day trial. Watch a video on how to do keyword research for your blog and website with Ahrefs, and it should be pretty simple to start.
Apart from keyword research, you can also search for your main keywords on Google and look at the People Also Ask section. It can be a gold mine for topic research.
Make a list of all the topics that you want to concentrate on, and plan things out at least three months at a time.
#6 PUBLISH AT LEAST 1 HIGH-QUALITY GUIDE EVERY MONTH
Don’t just stop at 750 because I mentioned… It would be best to write as much as is required to answer the question or explain your topic at hand.
Your long-form posts will help you massively increase your authority in your space, stand you apart from the competition, and increase visitors’ dwell time on your website.
Look at this example below:
Create high-quality and super in-depth content on topics that your audience will love. For example, you could create a Skyscraper article for almost any city about “Things To Do In + City,”… And you can link out to your homepage from that article with the anchor “escape room city.”
The best way to approach this is by choosing a topic that you feel your audience will like. You can verify the search volume through a keyword research tool. Then google that keyword and see the best articles ranking at the top. Your aim should be to create an even better and more extensive version of the article in your own words.
#7 DE-INDEX ALL LOW-QUALITY PAGES AND POSTS WITH YOAST OR RANK MATH
If you’ve been following the guide, you should already have the Yoast SEO or Rank Math plugin installed on your website.
It’s very easy to de-index low-quality pages and posts on your website. Just follow the prompts in the screenshot above.
You should, by default, de-index your category and tag pages from being indexed on Google, as these pages just create duplicate versions of the same content that is already indexed once.
Also, there might be other irrelevant pages that are created by plugins or auto-generated, and even in that case – if you think it’s of no use to your visitors – then you should de-index it by all means.
#8 GET A CONTACT FORM ON EVERY SINGLE PAGE OF YOUR WEBSITE
You want to ensure that a person doesn’t have to struggle to reach the contact form on your website. The contact buttons and phone numbers should be visible, but also the lead form should be there at the end of every page.
After implementing this simple approach, we’ve almost doubled the lead generation on some of our client’s websites.
Here’s an example of a high-quality contact form on an Escape Room website:
HOW TO BLOG FOR ESCAPE ROOMS AND GET MORE CUSTOMERS
Most Escape Rooms get this wrong. I’ve looked at at least 2000+ escape room websites, and I can safely say that 90% of them don’t have a blog section. And from the very few that do – only a handful are blogging regularly.
Another misconception is that blogs are only meant for Escape Room enthusiasts…
I seldom get objections like – “Why will people read our blog.. We are an escape room”…
“We don’t blog because we don’t market our business to enthusiasts or enthusiasts from a tiny portion of our bookings..” etc…
But blogging can be a super powerful weapon for increasing your website traffic and topical relevance in Google.
But what good is the traffic that’s not looking for Escape Rooms? How does it help me make money?
To which I ask, What % of your market is currently aware of Escape Rooms?
5-10% is generally the answer.
In that case, how are you going to reach the rest of the market if they aren’t looking for Escape Rooms?
They might be looking for other things to do in your city or spend quality time with family and friends… Or if you also offer birthday party services or team building activities… How will they find your business for those services?
For Google to consider you important enough to rank for a particular keyword, it needs to see if your business is an expert on those services. The only way to prove it is by regularly publishing high-quality articles on similar topics and linking to your important service landing pages from that topic.
Once Google starts to see that you are constantly publishing quality content around exciting topics to your audience, it will show you key landing pages. Your pages will show up for more terms like “things to do in +city,” “birthday party venues in + city,” or even “team building in + city.”

GET HIGHER GOOGLE MAP RANKINGS (ADVANCED TIPS FOR ESCAPE ROOMS)
Create or claim your Google My Business Profile.
Find your business in Google Maps, and see if you already own the listing. If not, there should be an option to Claim The Listing. Click on that, and follow the prompt on the screen.
If you are starting and your business is not listed on Google Maps, head over to google.com/mybusiness and quickly create a GMB (Google My Business) profile.
Ensure that a call or a postcard verifies your business listing.
Update your Name, Address, and Phone number to the most accurate information.
Ensure you’ve filled out all the relevant fields fully and correctly.
Only enter the service area if you have a mobile/portable game.
Enter your business hours and also special hours on holidays
Website URL
List all your products and services (add images and descriptions wherever there is an option)
Add a high-quality description of your business and include your primary keyword in the first paragraph.
Add up to 3 relevant categories for your business – Most Escape Rooms make a mistake here. Choose things like “Escape room center, Amusement Center, Corporate Entertainment Service.. Etc..”
Add as many high-quality photos of your business (at least a few of your location, team, customers, etc.)
Get as many reviews as possible (consider rewarding your employees for securing reviews)
Always respond to all reviews ASAP. Give a personalized response to every review instead of a cut-and-paste placeholder response – that’s no use. Also, reply politely to negative reviews and ensure you can provide a better experience the next time around.
List your business in at least 100+ business directories. There are many services on the web that you can use to do this. Look for Local Citation Services.
Create landing pages for the Top 5-10 nearby locations you want to cover on your website. Have keyword-focused titles and meta descriptions on all these pages.
Do not build out these pages at once. Instead, focus on getting them out 1-2 every month.
Go to your GMB profile, and update your website link to have URL parameters that allow you to track how many visitors come to your website from your Google My Business profile.
https://www.yourescaperoom.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=gmb
Use location-specific keywords when getting links back to your website from other websites on the web.
Publish a video on Youtube with your City, State, and Zip in the Name, and embed it on your website.
Try to embed XIF location data in all your images, or use a geotagged map photo plugin to do the trick for you.

Escape Room SEO Services FAQs
How did you start doing SEO for Escape Rooms?
I’ve been doing SEO since 2015, but it was only in 2018 when I played my first Escape Room. Coming from a gaming background, it was instant love at first sight.
I came home and started looking for other Escape Rooms in the world and realized that I would pursue doing digital marketing for Escape Rooms from that point.
Until that point, I had been working in various niches like “Locksmiths, Plumbers, and Dentists…” and I can’t say I had the highest quality of life. Every new client was a challenge because I had to learn about their industry and then deliver the services…
So I decided to discontinue some of my existing clients to focus more around working with Escape Rooms, and I’ve never looked back.
How much does Escape Room SEO cost through SEO ORB?
As of April 2022, we are offering our local SEO Services to Escape Rooms for $550 to $1550/m. It might sound like a lot of money, but there is no point in doing feel-good-seo that doesn’t do shit and only hurts your business more.
When you spend on our SEO Services, you can be rest assured to make at least 5 – 10x ROI from your investments.
How long does it take to get results?
It can depend from city to city. If you are in a smaller and less competitive city, you can usually see results in 2 to 3 months. However, if you are in moderately competitive towns, you will take at least 5 to 6 months to see a decent ROI on your investments.
Who's an excellent fit for our Escape Room SEO Services?
- Any Escape Room is a great fit, as long as you are making some money from your business and can afford to hold off for 5 to 6 months before seeing an ROI. Escape Room SEO is not for the faint-hearted.
- You should only invest in Escape Room SEO if you believe in it and understand that getting higher in Google’s organic search can be a valuable revenue driver for your business.
What are the fundamental pillars of SEO Services?
SEO can be broken down into two parts – On-page optimization and Off-page optimization. On-page optimization refers to all the changes that are done on the website, and Off-page optimization are things that are done on other websites (like building links back to your website)
The main pillars of SEO are:
- GMB Optimisation (Off-page)
- Technical On-page Fixing (On-page)
- Citation Building (Off-page)
- Link Acquisition (Off-page)
- Blogging (On-page)
- Press Releases (Off-page)
